I would like to acknowledge all your determination in saving the school. I think your peaceful
evictions demonstrated an enormous amount of dignity. The cost for the fees is unrealistic and I
disagree with the breakdown of payments (such as the cost for high court fees for the bailiffs).
I continue supporting all your efforts. Good luck.

I just felt I needed to drop you guys a note of encouragement and support for what your doing at Hyde Park School. I’m a local resident (just around the corner) and have been dismayed and disappointed at the Council’s attitude towards this beautiful building and the residents of Hyde Park that could use it. I’ve watched our school slowly rot away as the local shysters (I mean councillors) decide which multinational they can get the most money from to develop the site, and now someone is finally doing the right thing (opening up our school to the people who actually own it, i.e. me and you) and you guys get sent to court!!! I truly hope that you are able to show that developing the site in to “luxury” flats or an old people’s home is not the correct use for a public building and that the benefits of the site being used for community use would have limitless benefits for our fractured community. Hyde Park desperately needs a focus for everyone to come together, and
Hyde Park School is the perfect place to begin rebuilding our community to halt the decline in social standards that is currently happening. The kids that currently hang around on street corners intimidating passers by may find a place to focus there energies and improve there future prospects, the older people of the community may have a chance to meet others for the first time and maybe it would enable our fantastically diverse community to build stronger ties to prevent feelings of ethnic tension.
I sincerely hope that you guys have the opportunity to show what could be done for the people of Hyde Park and that the people who should be working for us (the Council) finally understand how important a community focus is.
Good luck.
Kate

Members in my school branch will want me to send a message of support to you in your battle. Like you we believe that the community's voice must be heard and respected and we congratulate you on the stand you are taking.
I will publicise details of the dispute at our next meeting.
Good luck with the court hearing.
Best wishes

This is an inspirational occupation- the Suits that make decisions to close schools, care nothing about pupils or the fact that schools are the heart of communities!
Well done for re-opening yours sorry I can't be there when the writs are served.
But let me know if their is anything else I can do.
In peace and solidarity
Sally Kincaid Divisional Secretary Wakefield and District NUT
You've done great! I was chatting to debbie at the Lady Bug do saying how proud i am to have had you folks try so hard for a community centre! I think i've finally found a way to help too (erk! i'm a busy working type so free time is precious and rare) i've started a facebook group encouraging individuals in the community to write to MPs and councillors expressing our concern at your eviction.
The long and short is you are, in my eyes, not criminals.
The council should be helping you every step of the way toward establishing your hard work as a legitimate, safe and professional community centre. That they can raise the hot air necessary to have you thrown out is yet more evidence that local politics are not representing local people!

I visited the school to take some photos today with phill davison. I'm planning on spending a night at the school tonight. Would you want me to bring more tea bags, coffee, fresh milk?
